Sensitise : inform to forewarn
Innocence in danger informs and alerts children, families, teachers, educators and schools on the various snares that paedocriminals set on the Internet to achieve their pernicious aims.
Innocence in danger has published two books in France in 2003 (and one in German this year) not only to make known its work but more importantly to denounce the reality of this plague of paedocriminality and especially in view of the vulnerability of children who use the Internet to contact each other. Information and sensitising the general public are therefore the first set of IID actions concerning the protection of children as individuals.
Mobilise: federate and coordinate
Innocence in danger strives to mobilise the maximum of resources towards specific objectives.
Human resources: law enforcement, judges, legislators, journalists, the media, government institutions and non-governmental associations and child protection professionals for decision-making, information and denunciation.
Financial resources : moral and physical persons, public organisations, private institutions, for their indispensable support to finance the actions of Innocence in danger.
Technological resources: informatics professionals to design software to combat the snares of paedocriminals on the web and to create tools designed to protect young internauts, for example by assisting their parents to watch over their activities on the Internet.
Above and beyond information and communication on paedocriminality on the Internet, which is still a taboo subject, Innocence in danger seeks the good will and conscience of volunteers to work with us. En 2004, Innocence in danger launched the software for parental monitoring of activity on the Internet. This software an be downloaded from www.lcpa.fr in French, English and German.
Personalised assistance : support and defend
Innocence in danger brings human, psychological, medical, juridical and material support to children victims and their protector parents. This assistance could last a number of years, whatever the age of the victims and whatever his age at the time of the aggression. From experience, we have learned that this follow through assistance is essential for the victim to reconstruct himself.
Innocence in danger receives increasing demands for aid from the victims’ families. For reasons of confidentiality, no external information on this aspect of our work, involving several members and volunteers of the Association, is given. This work nonetheless constitutes the heart of the activities of Innocence in danger : sensitise and inform to prevent crimes, mobilise and coordinate resources so that the child victims can be acknowledged, heard, defended and protected.
